When He gave man dominion over the world and all the plants of the fields, the birds of the sky and the beasts of the earth, He surely didn't mean "and go forth and fuck it up!".
Saddest of all, even should we plant new trees to replace those gone, we will not see the day when we can again sit in their shade and dream.
But someone else will, and perhaps that's the legacy we should leave.
