Jesus! 😨😱 I sensed this might be how you would 'go' after you got the car. If it happens again and you have to Leave… just know I love you and have always looked up to my big brother. Thanks for changing my diapers 😊❤️🙏 Bless you

*damn, just made myself cry like a baby😭 It’s All Good

Mary!

I'm so sorry and appreciate your concern, but the situation wasn't vehicle-dependent at all. Did you not get that from my description? I wasn't speeding or impaired and there were no other cars on the road. This had nothing to do with driving a Corvette or bad driving on my part. It had everything to do with being in the wrong place at the wrong time when someone was either careless, impaired, considering suicide, or trying to scare me. The white truck appeared suddenly from a blind curve. It was moving very fast just a short distance away. It swerved FULLY into my lane. There was no way to avoid it. And it pulled back JUST at the last millisecond.

Once over 20 years ago in the mountains on the High Road near Chamisal, a car full of young vatos pulled a similar maneuver on Kathy and me, pulling completely into our lane. That time there was plenty of room on the shoulder to pull over and I did. It may be a game in these parts. I really don't know. Upon reflection however, I think that's what happened, based on the apparently intentional vehicle placement in the middle of my lane.

Apropos of Nothing, use Mighty Mint for the ant apocalypse. It's the only thing that kept me sane through massive invasions in Santa Fe and now here in Minnesota. No nasty chemicals just mint, which they hate. And it works. It might take a couple of applications but it works.

Great photos and story. I always feel sad for the birds. I wish the predators would just eat pack rats, etc, plus the occasional pigeon, while leaving the pretty ones alone.

Sweet car. Remember you aren't 18 anymore, 10 ft tall and bullet proof. Drive accordingly.

What a great comment, thank you! I'm well acquainted with Mighty Mint and have even been concocting extra-strength mixes with concentrate ordered from Amazon, but I've only been using it to repel rodents as advertised. Don't think that's working, though. 🤣 But I will be delighted to use tonight in the kitchen. Ye gods on that. The ants are outrageous.

It is a sweet car and incredibly fun to drive. Should also get very good gas mileage (30mpg +) on road trips where I can use cruise control. Wise counsel appreciated. I've been careful and calm (mostly) when driving already for quite a long time for exactly those reasons. Thanks again.
